Welcome to Ashwood Community Resource

We run a vibrant community centre in the heart of Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.

Our History

The vision began in 2001 and sprang up from a group of people in Ashwood Church. In 2002 we initially leased the factory on Portland Street from Claremont Textiles and then purchased outright in 2003. Major renovations took place through the hard work of our volunteer force who helped to securing funding, cleaned and painted to make the Ashwood Centre a fantastic community building for everyone to enjoy.

The Vision

We continue to develop the Ashwood Centre and the projects, which run successfully from it. We have a strong ethos and value base which underpin what we do, which include building community, caring, promoting inclusion, justice, valuing, learning and equipping. We seek to provide great facilities for other community groups to develop their vision for Kirkby in Ashfield and the wider district.
